Bayou Body Count: Guy Walks Into A Bar...
It sounds like something out of the movies: from out of nowhere an unknown man in dark clothes storms into a bar, guns blazing. But according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, that was the scene at an after-hours club early Thursday morning.
Gilliland says that the club, which stops serving alcohol at 2 a.m. but remains open into the morning hours, has a history of criminal activity. Almost no one was inside when the gunman appeared, says Gilliland. Detectives have not yet determined the shooter's motive and continue to investigate. The suspect is described as about 5-foot-9-inches tall, between 150 and 180 pounds, with a fade haircut and a neck tattoo.

That was just one of several killings this past week.
For the mother of 26-year-old Derek Demond Godfrey, Wednesday morning was a parent's worst nightmare come true. She was at home when the phone rang. After she picked up, the caller said that her son had been killed and told her where the body lay. Godfrey's mother went to the spot, at the 13700 block of Duncum, where she found her son at the dead end of the street. She then called the cops, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
On Wednesday evening, an off-duty Harris County Sheriff's deputy was driving along through the intersection of Addicks Clodine and Bellaire when he heard a pair of gun shots. He then saw an African-American man run through the parking lot of a convenience store and collapse onto the ground.
The deputy drove over to the parking lot, where witnesses told him the man had been shot by another African-American man who was getting away on a bicycle. The deputy quickly found the bicyclist, Walter Seymore, 60, who was positively identified by witnesses, according to the sheriff's office. Seymore is now facing murder charges.
