Ron Artest Wastes No Time Getting Crazy In LA: He Releases A Michael Jackson Tribute Video
You turn around and see a large shadow, and realize it's not a friend, family member or even co-worker. Ron Artest has broken in, is evidently staring at you, and says he wants to help you.
What do you do? Apparently, Kobe Bryant has had this dilemma. From KCAL's John Ireland:
Kobe said that after the Lakers lost game six of the '08 NBA Finals in Boston by 39 points, he was alone in the shower, just fuming. He heard somebody walk in and assumed it was one of his teammates, or maybe a staff member. Instead, he looked up, and it was Ron Artest (to this day, Kobe has no idea how Artest got into the locker room).Perhaps this explains Artest's hasty decision to leave the Rockets and take under-market value with the Lakers.
"I want to come help you," Artest said.
His official signing with LA won't be official until later today, when free agents can ink new contracts for the upcoming season.
But besides potentially scaring the daylights out of random Lakers by sneaking into their showers, Ron has already had quite the impact in his first week in Hollywood.
In fact, Artest has even helped fans overcome the sadness of Michael Jackson's death with a rap tribute that declares Michael will live on in Artest's body.
Oh, and he'll also wear #37 in LA, to honor the number of weeks Thriller spent on top of the charts.
As always with Artest, it's impossible to even script things this bizarre. We'll certainly miss him, even if it's not for on-court reasons.
