Bayou Body Count: Shootout On The North Side

David Samuel Sepeda, 24, had decided to spend Saturday afternoon with his 13-year-old younger brother. They were washing Sepeda's car at the Apache Springs Apartment at 400 North Vista, not far from Bush International Airport, when suddenly they noticed that two African-American men watching them, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Suddenly, the two men began walking towards Sepeda and his brother. The men were armed. But so was Sepeda. When Sepeda reached for his gun, according to what his brother told investigators, he was shot dead.

Detectives do not know the motive yet and are looking for the two suspects, according to the sheriff's office.

Houston homicide detectives were called out to an office building at 10503 Rockley early Monday morning after a dead body was found. Police tell Bayou Body Count that information is thin right now, but according to the Houston Chronicle, roofers working in the area discovered the man, who appeared be have been shot in the face, lying facedown in a parking lot.


View Larger Map Houston police on Thursday began investigating a death at 10522 Beechnut, apartment No. 2421. The body of the man who lived there, 38-year-old Christopher Lynn Haynes, was found lying dead in the home, police say.

Haynes apparently did not show up for work Thursday. Concerned, members of his family went to check on him at his apartment. There they discovered Haynes, dead, a gunshot wound to his head.

Police suspect the killer's motive was robbery. However, at this point police say there are no witnesses and no suspects.
