Trigger-Happy Homeowner Will Face Charges, DA's Office Decides

We wondered yesterday how a northwest Houston homeowner could shoot three men, killing one, and not even get arrested and make so much as a brief trip to jail.

Happens all the time, or at least it's not uncommon, we were told.

But if that is indeed the case, then this latest shoot-`em-up is different. Because the trigger-happy resident has been picked up by the cops.

"The guy who did the shooting...is now in custody and facing charges, which haven't been formally filed yet," DA spokesman George Flynn tells Hair Balls.

At first, charges weren't filed because cops and prosecutors apparently believed the shooter had a valid case of self-defense. Further investigation, it seems, poked some holes in that theory.

So, to update: Shooting three and killing one in Houston does not carry a get-out-of-jail-free card. This time.
