That Roberts Elementary Teacher Is Reinstated; Kids Learn Lesson About Protesting

The district announced today that Mindy Herrick, the Roberts Elementary teacher whose arrest sparked protests from parents and students, is getting her job back, as is a Yates teacher.
Says the district's statement:
"The district is working to resolve all cases related to the recent district-wide drug searches as soon as possible. Two teachers were re-instated today, one at Yates High School and one at Roberts Elementary, following a review of their cases by HISD administrators and board members. All cases are reviewed individually based on HISD policy, separate from any legal action being taken by the D.A."HISd spokeswoman Lisa Kinney is a bit coy on when the searches will stop, as superintendent Abe Saavedra ordered last month. "Although the random drug searches have wound down," she says, "we do not intend to announce an ending date." So keep on keeping those cars clean, people.
Herrick's attorney, Kent Schaffer, has told Hair Balls he expects the DA to drop charges against his client in the near future.
