As a result of a court settlement, several of the nation's fancier chain stores -- including ones in Houston -- are giving away free make-up in order to "make up" (ha ha!!) for price-fixing schemes the stores and cosmetics companies practiced on poor, unsuspecting women.
Picking a day when it's least likely to get attention, tables will be set up at Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Dillard's and Nordstrom.The list of relevant cosmetics is too long and boring, so just go to this site for all the details.
The give-away will go on as long as supplies last, or January 26, whichever comes first.
