Debris-Pile Maker To Pleasantville: No, You Stink
Marlon Copeland of CCG, the company that created the giant pile, essentially tells complainers this: Your neighborhood smelled so bad before, you should be thanking us for doing you a favor:
"That's unfortunate that the residents could come out and say it's a problem," he said. He compared the smell to pine air freshener and said he believed it enhanced the predominant odor in the neighborhood, which is surrounded by industrial businesses. "The smell of wood chips, by definition, is a wonderful thing to smell," he said.Wood chips in the morning...smells like victory.
The company's now making other plans, and the pile should be gone by next month.
But the warm feelings Pleasantville has towards CCG will no doubt stay forever.
