More HISD Middle-School Staffers Nabbed For Pot
A month ago, a middle-school assistant principal gets nabbed for growing dope in his home.
Now, a pair of teachers at Williams Middle School (Northwest side represent!) are making friends in county due to a meddling tipster and a drug-sniffing dog.
HISD spokesman Norm Uhl says the district's tip line received a call about drugs at Williams. The HISD drug dog (no name given; we're hoping it's "Dopey") did his thing in the parking lot and turned up the evil weed on cars belonging to two teachers, one male and one female.
The teachers, Uhl says, "were arrested for possession of marijuana in a drug free zone, which is an enhanced charge. HISD is committed to maintaining a drug free environment for our children. Violations will not be tolerated."
What is it with middle-school staff and teachers and pot?
Oh, yeah -- They spend their days dealing with middle-schoolers.

Update: DA spokesman George Flynn tells Hair Balls (and the rest of the media) that only one charge has been filed in connection with the discovery.
The District Attorney's Office has just filed a charge of possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone. The defendant is Gabriel Moseley, 32.Bond has been set at $1,000.
This is a Class A Misdemeanor charge that, upon conviction, carries a range of punishment from probation to one year in jail and $4,000 fine.
The cause number in this case is 1562927. It has been assigned to County Criminal Court at Law No. 10.
This is the only charge filed in connection with this incident. More information will be available only after the defendant's initial probable cause hearing, which has not yet been set.
