Houston Teacher May Be Miss Black USA

Categories: Education
Enough with the Houston-area teachers and principals and all their dope-smoking and having affairs with kids.

What about something good about the teachers around here?

Okay -- there's Andrea Hill, a sixth-grade teacher at Patrick Henry Middle School.

What's she done lately?

Gotten herself chosen Miss Black Texas USA.

Hill, on the right in the photo, now goes on to the national Miss Black USA tournament.

Part of her win was telling judges what she would do if she won the crown:

"Her purpose is to promote social progression in the lives of teenage girls so they may become empowered to reach their full potential in life and ultimately become ladies of distinction," the official announcement says.

Congratulations, and cue up the Van Halen...... (Well, first explain to sixth-graders just who Van Halen was, and how once back in the day when MTV showed videos there was this one called "Hot for Teacher," and we walked both ways to school and didn't have no iPods or Internet or zzzzzzzzz)
