On Hold: Lots Of Impressive-Looking Buildings
It's not online, but Swamplot does a good job summing it up.
In short, it might be best to just admire these slick watercolor depictions, because it's probably all you're going to see of these projects for some time, if ever.
1. The River Oaks district project, on Westheimer inside the Loop. Huge, with 300,000 sf of retail, 300 apartments, a fancy W hotel with condos....and a fancy walkway!
Here's what it's supposed to look like:
More, after the jump.
3. 3100 Post Oak -- At the corner of South Post Oak and Richmond. Twenty-six stories of modern office building, barely able to keep up with all the businesses looking to locate there.
The list doesn't include big-box stores that have been delayed, or the hundreds of strip malls that just can't get financing anymore.
We just hope the recession doesn't hit the pretty-"proposed development"-pictures industry too hard.
