Drunk Drivers: Here's The Person Who's Giving You Hope
Today Harris County DA Kenneth Magidson arrested and made public the name of the woman: Deetrice Wallace.
"Wallace has been charged with the offense of Tampering with a Governmental Record, a state jail felony, which exposes her to a range of punishment of 6 months to 2 years in the state jail and up to a $10,000 fine. She will appear in the 182nd District Court. The District Attorney states that additional charges may be forthcoming," spokesperson Donna Hawkins says.
Drunk-driving cases in Clute, Friendswood, League City, Galveston, Seabrook, Pearland, Webster and South Houston are affected, the DAs office announced.
Magidson said any affected cases will be studied to see if the charges can still stick.
A quick Google search shows a Deetrice Wallace was, in 2007, named Teacher of the Year for her work at Sharpstown Middle School.
Hawkins tells Hair Balls she does not know if that's the same person, and it does seem unlikely. But funny if true.
