SOS From The Montgomery County Animal Shelter
Just like the Houston Humane Society, the folks taking care of animals up in Montgomery County are running into trouble thanks to Ike.

From the Montgomery County Animal Shelter:Montgomery County Animal Shelter on I-45 exit 242 East, gets about 2000 animals a month, they have implemented an Adoption program and are trying, with the help of the non profit FMCTAS (Friends of Montgomery County TX Animal Shelter) to become a no-kill shelter.
Due to the hurricane, MCAS helped house animals evacuated from shelters, south of Houston. MCAS was without power for almost 5 days, which aggravated the conditions of the animals. We need the help of the community. MCAS will be open tomorrow from 8 am to 5pm for the public that wants help by adopting an animal or fostering for a couple of weeks, AT NO COST, to make sure they are healthy so they can be adopted out later.
Tomorrow (Friday) is the last day before MCAS begins euthanizing the animals. Friends of Montgomery non-profit has assisted them with many needs and fostered out many, but not enough, we need the community to help us by adopting or foster tomorrow, as well as donate
