Some Dogs Enjoy An Ike Break

Meanwhile, attorney Emily Watkins relaxed on a bench while her dog Jake made some new friends. Kellie Freimann made sure her border collie Bella got in some fetch time. A student at HCC, Freimann is on an unexpected hiatus.
At the Chew park off Dunlavy and Richmond, a few folks gathered around the bench to talk about the chaos and destruction – and what’s for dinner tonight.
Allison Hawkins, a pharmaceutical rep, was representing with her chocolate lab Charly, who was trying to get anyone and everyone to throw him a ball. Hawkins is one of the blessed few Montrose residents who never lost power – well, except for a few hours Fri. night. Meanwhile, David DaLuca and his pharaoh hound, Malek, chatted with Glo Trigg, whose magnificent pit bull Aubie has one of the biggest heads known to man; and a heart to match. Both Montrose residents have been without power since Friday night.
At Discovery Green, it was a bit quieter. Friendswood High sophomore Phillip Baker chilled with his English yellow lab, Marley. Baker said his family evacuated Thursday night and have been staying at the Hilton. Fortunately, Marley got a break from the close-quarters of a hotel room and had the park to himself for quite a while.
