After the Storm Comes the Fire

This house in South Houston made it through Ike with just some power loss, only to catch fire yesterday afternoon.
Neighbors at Ammons and 8th Street say no one was home as they rushed over to watch firefighters battle the blaze.
“There’s been some tree damage and everyone’s power is out,” says nearby resident George Sanchez, “and now this happens. The house caught fire real quick and we all ran over to see what was going on and the firefighters were already on their way.”
No one seemed to know what started the fire and authorities were not available for comment.
