Crime-Fighting Tactic: Just Say No

A Conroe salesclerk took “just say no” to a new level when a man entered a GNC store and demanded the money from the cash register. The clerk said no and didn’t hand over any cash. The man pulled out a gun and again demanded the money. The clerk again said no and reached for her cell phone to call police.

Thwarted, the man snatched her cell phone and walked out of the store. (That'll show her who's boss!!)

Conroe Police Department Corporal David Viel tells Hair Balls the clerk was lucky. “She made a bold statement and got away with it this time,” he says. “That’s the only GNC that we have in town, that I know of, and this is the first time it’s been robbed – or rather attempted to be robbed.”

So is refusing to cooperate a good idea when you’re being held up at gunpoint? “Nooooooo,” says Viel. “I would not recommend that, no.”

There’s no news on the suspect. We suggest Conroe PD look for a really pissed off, emasculated, confused-looking guy with an extra cell phone.
