How To Best Keep Track of Edouard

Categories: Spaced City
If you're obsessing over Edouard, there are plenty of places on the web to follow the action.

Weather Underground has lots of info and charts, and Jeff Masters' blog is always informative.

The National Weather Service is trying out a new deal, a "multi-media briefing," that is supposed to keep you as up to date as possible. We haven't checked it out yet, but here it is.

For amateur speculation -- that can often be as informative as some of the always-hyping "experts" out there -- there's the Hurricane Watchers' Message Board.

And, as we've noted before, the Houston Chronicle's Eric Berger consistently presents a common-sense, low-key discussion of incoming apocalypses. (Although he's currently doing penance for overselling Hurricane "on a collision course with Houston" Cristobal.)

You could watch the local TV news, of course, if you want visuals of people surfing in the Gulf. Be sure to play along with the Hurricane Bingogame we ran to usher in the first post-Katrina hurricane season. It's a tad outdated, but sadly still very, very relevant.

Keep checking on Hair Balls tomorrow, as we'll offer pictures and reports from the field of what, if anything, Edouard brings to town.
