It’s Monday, definitely not to be confused with Funday. This past weekend, on the other hand…

Texas Hip-Hop at Fitzgerald’s

Shea Serrano headed up to Fitz on Saturday night for Heroes, SuperROOT, H.I.S.D and Lower Life Form. He brought back tales of sloppy hipsters, wacky homeless people and top-notch hip-hop.

The Houston Press Holiday Party at Azteca’s Bar & Grill

Everyone gathered together for a night of drinking. We would tell you more, but we’ve got a confidentiality clause that puts the Scientologists to shame. Okay, not really, but it’s all kind of hazy. There wasn’t a copier available, however, so it couldn’t have been that bad.

Chris Gray Totally Hearts Billy Joel

We’re not sure why it took our assistant music editor so long to admit he has a thing for the piano man, but on Sunday he finally outed himself. He may be right. We may be crazy. But it just may be…okay, okay, we’ll stop right there.

The Houston Texans Took Down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Sage Rosenfels threw for three touchdowns as the Texans beat the Bucs 28-14. Mark C. Austin brought back a ton of pics, including quite a few shots of cracked-out fans, and Jason Friedman turned to superfan Troggie, who offered up a no-holds-barred take on the Texans (not to mention the Rockets).

Happy Hanukkah, people. Start spinning. – Keith Plocek
