Still Sucks to Be a Librarian, Even If You're Not Passing Out Drugs

Categories: Spaced City

Our print edition is out, including an item in the Hair Balls column about how Harris County may be demanding that its librarians stay in town and go to the front lines as responders to a biological or chemical terrorist attack.

We probably weren’t clear enough in writing it, though, and that resulted in a mistake on the cover. County authorities emphasized that the librarians would not be asked to hand out medicine in the event of such a catastrophic attack; instead they would be sent to the sites where medicine was being handed out and help to disseminate information about what residents should do.

It doesn’t make much difference if you’re one of the librarians who’d rather get the hell out of Dodge instead of dealing with people who supposedly are waiting calmly for vaccines, but we wanted to set the record straight. – Richard Connelly
