School observers may be interested to learn that former HISD chief business officer Cathy Mincberg is now poised to assume the role of schools superintendent – in Portland, Oregon, according to a recent article in Willamette Week entitled, “Houston, Do We Have Your Problem?”
Mincberg, you may remember, once supported the idea of adding to teachers’ workloads by putting them to work as bus drivers. The one-time Houston City Council candidate and ex-wife of former Harris County Democratic party chairman David Mincberg currently serves as chief operating officer for Portland Public Schools.
