Lazy Gabacho

We started writing a preview for Village Voice Media columnist Gustavo Arellano’s upcoming appearance as part of the tour for his new book ¡Ask a Mexican!, but we decided to just write him a letter:

Dear Mexican: Why should we come out to your book signing at Barnes & Noble? We can just get the same experience by reading your column in the Press, ¿qué no?

Dear Gabacho: Take your pick: If you hate my column, show up and yell at me. If you love the Mexican, you can meet me in person and I’ll sign anything (no body parts, though) you shove in my face. If you like nonprofits, a portion of the book sales goes to chingón Houston nonprofit Nuestra Palabra.

Read our Night & Day© for more reasons why you should meet the Mexican. Plus, find out how the Art Car Parade convinced “The King of Interplanetary Funk” George Clinton to be Grand Marshal, why the Museum of Printing History has a fortune’s worth of forgeries and who the new hottie is over at the Houston Symphony.
