Don't forget to hop on the light rail after work today and head down to the Flying Saucer. The Houstonist Light Rail Pub Crawl begins there at 5:30 p.m. We told you about it earlier in the week. The group will leave from there and board the ~~boozer cruiser~~ light rail and travel to various bars along its route. Houstonist editor Jim Parsons has a word for those worried about their safety:

"Well, the way I see it there is a really good chance if you cross the rail you might get hit, so we thought that actually being drunk on the train is far safer."

Be one of the first to arrive at the Saucer for free light rail passes, special drink offers and Houstonist giveaways. Hopefully Metro's blogger will show up and buy a couple rounds for everyone. (We hear she makes a decent chunk of change.) -- Dusti Rhodes
