And Yes, Chicken Is Meat

Categories: Whatever
Don't even think about it.
A few weeks back we poked a little fun at the acronym SHARK, pissing off a few folks in the process. But what those critics didn't seem to understand is that we're not anti-vegetarian. We're just anti-dumb-acronym.

Which is why we're pleased to introduce the Farm Animal Reform Movement, aka FARM. Now that's an acronym we can embrace, although the repetition of the word "farm" is a little less than ideal. But anyway, the good folks at FARM want you to know about tomorrow's Meatout.

Not to be confused with EATAPETA day, the Meatout is "an international observance helping individuals evolve to a wholesome, nonviolent diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains. The purpose is to expose the public to the joys and benefits of a plant-based diet, while promoting the availability and selection of meat and dairy alternatives in mainstream grocery stores, restaurants, and catering operations."

In other words, they don't want you to eat meat tomorrow. — Keith Plocek
