Tragedy in Webster

Categories: Spaced City

The Associated Press reports that a 10-year-old boy in Webster hanged himself on Sunday. The boy apparently was imitating the execution of Saddam Hussein, which, as you well know, was broadcast all over the place.

"I don't think he thought it was real," the boy's uncle told the AP. "They showed them putting the noose around [Saddam's] neck and everything. Why show that on TV?"

You gotta wonder how real a 10-year-old could've thought the execution was, especially considering how many times it was rebroadcast on the networks. Just think of how it must've seemed: Saddam died, and then he came back to life, and then he died again, and then he came back to life, and then he died again.

We don't know what else to say. — Keith Plocek
