Carpooling can be fun.

This Saturday a protest by local day laborers got a little hairy when the folks from US Border Watch showed up.

KHOU has the story. Here's one side:

"This is our country. Most of these people are in this country illegally." Curtis Collier of the US Border Watch said. "It is something that we will continue to do until we bring the closure of every day laborer site in Houston."

And here's the other side, courtesy of Juan Alvarez, day-labor superhero:

"We know and we believe they are racists," Protester Juan Alvarez said.

This is our country vs. You guys are racists. This is all starting to sound pretty familiar. Reminds us of the days of yore, way, way back in the summer of 2006, when talk of immigration was all the rage.

What ever happened to those glory days? Oh, wait, now we remember. — Keith Plocek
