"Ain't no one calls my girl 'absenteeism!'"
We're hearing stories about a scuffle at Waltrip High School today. From everyone's favorite HISD spokesman Terry Abbott, we get this:
Here's a report on what happened at Waltrip High School this morning: According to the principal, we've arrested a mother, her daughter (a student) and a family friend after they assaulted a police officer on campus in the school attendance office. The trio started acting in a belligerent fashion while the constable was issuing a citation to the parent for the daughter's absenteeism. The trio started fighting with the officers. The principal reports that the HISD campus police officer was bitten on the hand and the constable hit in the eye. Neither is seriously hurt but will be treated.
Whoa! But dude, it gets better. Sez Abbott:
The principal reports that his campus is normally calm and quiet, and that this is a very unusual occurrence.
