What harm's a little rum between IAH and DFW ?

Our pals at KHOU broke another good one yesterday. You may have heard that a Continental Airlines pilot was pulled from duty Sunday after testing positive for alcohol. Seems a Continental employee smelled the vapors emanating from the pilot on an employee bus and alerted someone that said pilot might have already been fueling before fueling.

The pilot had been scheduled to operate Continental flight 706 from Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport to Tampa, Florida. That's a few hours, making for a trip potentially more interesting than Soul Plane.

And hey, the unnamed pilot has a wing man. A couple of weeks ago, a Southwest pilot was arrested just before he took off from Salt Lake City International Airport for suspicion of intoxication.

There's also the case of the buzzin' Australian Army helicopter pilots. Oh, those crazy Aussies. — Steven Devadanam
