The 5 Best Brunch Spots in Galveston

These brunch spots will make you want to stay on the island a little bit longer.
In Houston, we're pretty serious about our brunch. Whether it be migas and breakfast tacos or chicken and waffles and loaded Bloody Marys, we have no shortage of awesome spots to get our brunch on. Keeping later hours and killer cocktails in mind, we'll be taking a look at some of our favorite spots around town. See the complete list at the end of this post.

This week, we're going down to the shore and taking a look at the best brunches in Galveston.

Honorable Mention: Crawfish hash, fried stuffed shrimp, and brunch cockails at Gaido's and bold breakfast plates at Sunflower Bakery & Cafe.

5. The M&M Restaurant & Bar Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The acoustic Sunday brunch at this dark and cozy resto' set in a historic building features $5 mimosas alongside brunch classics and upscale tavern eats. Come to enjoy everything from pancake stacks and smothered crabs eggs benny to rich and creamy lobster bisque, ribeye-and-blue-cheese-stuffed cheeseteaks, and bright and fresh ahi tuna.

The namesake eggs Benedict at our No. 4 pick is a must-try.
4. Mosquito Cafe Sunday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Breakfast also available until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday through Saturday)

Located in Gavelston's historic East End, this quaint, two-story gem boasts old-school charm. Head here to indulge in eclectic, home-style fare like corned beef hash tacos and cinnamon-spiced and raisin-studded challah French toast. Though our favorite may dish be their Mosquito Benedict, a funky affair of scratchmade bacon-cheddar scones, poached eggs and classic hollandaise over shrimp, mushrooms, artichoke, asparagus, and sundried tomatoes. Just make sure to choose the side of cheesy house grits and tack on a few mimosas for good measure.

Mario's Seawall also serves up an amazing brunch every Sunday from 11am-2pm! One of my favorite dishes is their fish tacos... to die for!

Hotel Galvez serves a brunch that is amazing! We go a couple of times a year and have never been disappointed. It is stunning & will make you never want to go to any other brunch. The spots mentioned are appetizing as well but Hotel Galvez doesn't even compare. It deserves a category on its own.

A good list, but I would add the brunch at Hotel Galvez.  Yes expensive at $39.99 for buffet but includes unlimited champagne/mimosas.

@Wade Woodard And there's nuthin like watching the senior citizen brigade roll in… Also they used to have a piano singer, aaaaaaand yes, the desert room!
