Upcoming Events: The Perry's Steakhouse 4444 Special Returns
The Perry's Steakhouse 4444 special is back this summer and because the steakhouse is celebrating its 35th anniversary, the four-course special will be available throughout July and August. Choose one item from four courses on the prix fixe menu for $44 after 4 p.m. every day. Begin with Perry's Signature fried asparagus, the Asian ahi tuna tartare, homemade Polish sausage or jumbo lump crab cakes. Select from five salad options, including the classic Caesar salad, chopped salad with applewood-smoked bacon or iceberg wedge salad. Entree options include a 6-ounce filet mignon, grilled salmon, Perry's Famous Pork Chop or sesame-crusted ahi tuna. Finally, cap it all off with crème brulee, a dessert trio, milk chocolate peanut butter candy bar or the Nutty d'Angelo.

Rather than ordering sake with your lobster mac 'n cheese from Kata Robata, try the new libations offered from the bar -- Japanese whiskies. Every day, the Japanese and sushi restaurant will offer flights of three 12-year-old Japanese whiskies for $28. Each flight will include Hibiki Blend 12, Taketsuru Pure Malt 12 and Yamazaki 12 Single Malt; we have been told that the Yamazaki whisky brand is in its 90th year of business.
Head to Central Market to sip and stroll around the specialty grocery store on Thursday, July 10, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. For $10, each guest will receive a gift bag with a wine glass, corkscrew, Central Market wine guide and wine event guide, plus food and wine pairings from nine serving stations. Make sure you reserve your spot at this event to sample multiple wines, chat with experts and enjoy scrumptious bites specifically paired with each vino.
Join the Bayou City Outdoors crew for a beautiful summer evening ride around Buffalo Bayou. The bike ride begins at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, then stops at the intersection of Waugh and Allen Parkway to watch the bats fly away from the Waugh Street bridge. After the bats take flight, everyone will head downtown to grab a couple of beers and some food -- you need to refuel your body after the bike ride! This event is free and open to the public, but make sure you bring money for food and drinks.
