Eat Your Dessert First at Kraftsmen Cafe
Sometimes it's not a wise decision to eat at such a hopping place like Kraftsmen Cafe on a Sunday afternoon. But sometimes you forget that places like these fill up quickly with large parties, BYOB brunch groups and hungry patrons coming from church. The longer you stand in line, the hungrier you get. And that hangry mood begins to settle in as you wait at your table without food for over half an hour.

Of course, patience is a virtue, but if you stare too long at the bakery display case home to giant chocolate chip cookies, beautiful croissants and one of the biggest chocolate scones you have ever seen, then that willpower to hold out for your lunch goes out the window.
If you just so happen to grab a seat facing the display case, you'll feel like the sweet treats are calling out your name, inviting you to purchase one and gobble it up before your food comes out...if it ever will. But, if there's one pastry that has more power over the others, it's Kraftsmen Cafe's giant mocha hazelnut scone. After sipping on a Diet Dr Pepper for 30 minutes and attempting to convince yourself you don't need that sugary, crumbly treat, say goodbye to that patience; especially if someone walks up to the display case oohing at each item.

If you're the kind of person who lets hunger pangs control overide your brain, then watching one person almost snatch your scone (yes, it is your scone) will be enough to make you walk to the front and buy that beautiful pastry.

This mocha hazelnut scone is perfect to share between two people; although you might fight over the sugar-topped crust. The exterior is crisp, firm and crunchy, while the interior is soft, crumbly, and bursting with miniature chocolate chips and chopped hazelnuts -- it tastes just like Nutella. The slight hint of espresso is a nice addition to the chocolate treat.
Whenever you dine at Kraftsmen Cafe, go ahead and order the mocha hazelnut scone with the rest of your meal; chances are you'll be waiting for your food if the Heights restaurant is packed. You'll be much happier and your stomach will thank you. Who says dessert is reserved for after your meal?
