Get scallops and mimosas for brunch at our No. 5 pick.
In Houston, we're pretty serious about our brunch. Whether it be migas and breakfast tacos or chicken and waffles and loaded Bloody Marys, we have no shortage of awesome spots to get our brunch on. Keeping later hours and killer cocktails in mind, we'll be taking a look at some of our favorite spots around town. See the complete list at the end of this post.

This week, we're moving to the restaurant-packed 'hood of Upper Kirby.

Note: For the purposes of this post, Upper Kirby is defined as west of Shepherd, east of Weslayan, north of Bissonnet and south of Westheimer.

5. Sorrel Urban Bistro Sunday 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There's nothing like starting Sunday off with fresh farm-to-table fare (especially when you don't have to do any of the farm to table work). This swanky, urban bistro will deliver just that right. Dine by the open kitchen, grab a seat on the patio, or sit yourself right down at the bar as you dine on a honey goat cheese beet salad, sage-scented biscuits, bacon-infused pancakes, and the lobster cake benedict, a favorite of our critic, Kaitlin Steinberg. And of course, there are 99 cent mimosas...because its Sunday dang nabbit!

Grab a seat in the shade at our No. 4 pick.
4. Hobbit Cafe Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The oak-tree-shaded deck at this tiny hobbit hole on Richmond Ave. is one of our favorite spots to escape the madness of the city. Get mimosas, bellinis and bloodys for $3.50 alongside brunch specialties like eggs and beef fajitas, pico-topped migas, Greek omelets, and apple almond pancakes drenched in 100% pure maple syrup.
