On Tuesday, June 3, Damian's Cucina Italiana will host a wine tasting event featuring selections from Cru Artisan Wines. From 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., guests will spend time upstairs in the Italian restaurant sampling vino, including Banfi Centine Rosso, Fontanelle Chardonnay and San Angelo Pinot Grigio. Speak with artisan winemakers while munching on various hors d'oeuvres and sipping on wine -- maybe you will find a new favorite. This event costs $20 per person.

French Country Wines has partnered with La Carafe to host monthly Thursday wine tastings. June 5 is the first Thursday of the month, so from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., you can sample Provence wines Camille Rosé and Domaine Gueissard Rosé, and the Petit Caboche Rosé from the Rhône Valley at La Carafe. Tickets costs $15 and include a glass of each wine, plus artisanal cheese and crackers provided by Angela's Oven.

Eleven XI Restaurant & Bar will host a fundraising event for PULSE at St. Luke's Foundation on Sunday, June 8, from noon until 3 p.m. The Culinary Carnival will feature festival activities like face painting, games and music, along with a competition between 17 Houston chefs challenging each to create a sweet and savory dish on a stick. Participating chefs include Gabriel Medina of Soma Sushi, Ryan Hildebrand of Triniti, David Cordua of Americas, Artista and Churrascos, Drew Rogers of Drew's Pastry Place and more. A panel of judges will decide the winners for best dish and most creative while carnival attendees will choose the winner for People's Choice. Each ticket costs $50 in advance, or $60 at the door, and include food, adult beverage samples, DJ and other entertainment; children 12 years and under get in for free.

Underbelly's Chris Shepherd has been on a winning streak after receiving a James Beard Award and being crowned the winner in the Waffle House Smackdown at the Charleston Food & Wine Festival. To celebrate that Waffle House win, Shepherd will host a breakfast for dinner event at Hay Merchant on June 11 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets to the event cost $90 and can be picked up at Hay Merchant during business hours. Each ticket gives you a stick-to-your-ribs meal of smothered and peppered hash browns, omelets and waffles. All of this will be paired with beers (and yes, those are included in the ticket price, too).

Saint Arnold Brewing Company will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Saturday, June 7, at the brewery. Saint Arnold shipped its first keg of Amber Ale on June 9, 1994. For $65, each guest will receive a token for the special 20th Anniversary Barleywine Ale, another token for any brew offered in the regular lineup, a dinner provided by Goode Company BBQ and a souvenir glass commemorating the 20th Anniversary. The fun begins at 5 p.m. and lasts until 10:30 p.m.; listen to live music, drink some beer and stuff your face with BBQ. Could there be a better way to celebrate an anniversary?
