5 Best Brunch Spots in Montrose

The seasonal pancakes at our No. 3 spot keep us coming back for more.
3. Baby Barnaby's Weekdays 9 a.m. to noon; Saturday and Sunday. 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

An oldie but a goodie, Baby B's is a 'trose favorite for a reason. They've got a casual, friendly atmosphere; oversize drinks (both coffees and mimosas); and an excellent mix of Southern, Tex-Mex and healthy breakfast classics. Get anything from chicken-fried steak & eggs to a healthy six-egg-white plate (dishes start at just $5.95).

And whether it's huevos rancheros or a banana-walnut-loaded pancake, every plate is bigger than your head.

2. Baba Yega Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Smaller buffet available Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

Baba Yega's legendary brunch buffet keeps the eccentric haunt's patio packed on Sundays. Join in on the fun with a few glasses or carafes ($3, $12) of mimosas or bellinis before hitting up the buffet for your fix of freshly made waffles and omelettes, eggs Benedict, breakfast potatoes, smoked honey ham, brisket, bagels and lox, salads, fruits, desserts, and (still somehow) more.

The all-you-can-eat brunch will cost you $23 per person (or $14 on Saturdays), but it's well worth the price.

Totally agree with Hugos and Baba Yegas, but Empire Cafe should be on the list. Numbers 4 and 5 aren't showing up here.

Only in Houston can Hugo's and Barnaby's be on the same list (aside from zip code) and everyone agrees. Houston: something delicious for everyone!

Saturday at baba yega's is just as good, less crowded, and cheaper than Sundays. Always our go to for a quiet brunch after a rough Friday night. Bonus point for the patio and it being right around the corner.

Except for Mother's Day, Hugos Brunch is $40 /person, probably for alot less on the buffet than a regular Sunday....

I like the clean and bright Mexican brunch at Cuchara.

I was very underwhelmed by the cooking at Cuchara; I think Tex Mex holds such sway here, that any alternative is eagerly greeted by the critics. Cuchara is overpriced, a mess to park at now that Max's is next door, and becoming sorta precious with the artsy thang.

@Reinne @FRL713  I don't care for the dinner menu, but we love the 3-course lunches and the brunch menu has some tasty Mexican classics to pair with the excellent drinks.
