Get your pancakes at Ouisie's Table every Tuesday.
Start your Tuesday mornings off right with pancakes at Ouisie's Table. Every Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m., Ouisie's Table will offer a multitude of pancake choices paired with two eggs made however you prefer, bacon, fruit, coffee and juice for $17; pancakes are available a la carte for $6. Satisfy that sweet tooth with the chocolate chip flapjacks topped with whipped cream or the banana pancakes with Nutella; some fruit options include blueberry buttermilk and mixed berry with whipped cream; and of course there are traditional pancakes like the buttermilk and Ouisie's Table's special, Lucy's cornmeal.

The Galveston Wine & Food Festival begins on Thursday, April 24, and lasts until Sunday, April 27. One of the major events is The Grand Tasting, which takes place on Saturday, April 26, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Guests will receive a wine passport to be stamped at each station where they sample wines from around the world; guests will also taste food from various restaurants, and craft beer (a new addition to this event) at the Craft Beer Bar. Each guest will receive a souvenir glass, and an event program listing the wines and foods available to sample; tickets to The Grand Tasting cost $65 per person.

Kick off Passaporta Italia at Central Market with a Prosecco tasting.
Fluff Bake Bar's pastry chef, Rebecca Masson, and a team of male chefs will prepare a seated dinner as part of a fundraiser for Lucky Dog Rescue on Sunday, April 27, beginning at 5 p.m. This Sweet & Savory All Male Review includes several chefs from Houston, such as Andrew Vaserfirer, head butcher of Revival Market, chef Randy Rucker, Reef's chef de cuisine Ryan Lachaine, and several more chefs from San Antonio, Austin and Dallas. Tickets to this event cost $125 per person and include the seated dinner, plus wine, cocktail and beer pairings; act fast though, because seats are limited to only 125 people. The night also includes a silent auction with items from the chefs participating in the dinner and their restaurants. Saint Arnold will provide the beer, Reyka Vodka will provide special cocktails and Katz Coffee will serve up the cups of Joe.

Take a trip to Italy during Central Market's "Passaporto Italia" kick-off event on Wednesday, April 30. The culinary event lasts from April 30 until May 11, and will feature a variety of activities and classes showcasing the foods and wines of Italy. During the first event, the Passaporto Italia Kick-off, the wine and beer department at Central Market will host a Prosecco tasting hosted by Umberto Cosmo, founder and winemaker of Bellenda. From 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., do your shopping at Central Market and sample Prosecco.

On Wednesday, April 30, chef Randy Rucker will serve a multiple course dinner featuring ingredients from the 3rd Coast, aka the Gulf of Mexico. The dinner will take place at 7 p.m. at an undisclosed location; after you purchase a ticket to the event, you will receive an email confirmation with the address of where his Spring on 3rd Coast dinner will take place. Everything about this event is basically a mystery until the day of the event; the menu will not be disclosed in advance because Rucker wants to use products that are in-season and available to him that day. But, according to the event's Facebook page, "you can count on the menu being studded with lots of cultivated, wild and indigenous products that help provide a connection between the guests and their surroundings." Purchase tickets online at a suggested donation price of $65; this event is also BYOB.
