The 5 Best Things to Eat or Drink This Weekend: Honor Texas With BBQ, Steak & Beer
Food Truck Friday @ Houston Press
Friday, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
2603 La Branch
When lunch time rolls around, we're hungry, and we expect you are, too. Cure those hunger pains with something comforting and something that simply hits the spot. The Golden Grill will be pulling up to our office today at 11 a.m. to serve you an incredible grilled cheese sandwich. Keep it simple with the Classic (bacon and cheddar) or choose a more adventurous grilled cheese, such as the BBQ Pork complete with Monterrey Jack cheese, pickles, caramelized onions and, of course, pulled pork. Add a cup of baked potato soup or end on a sweet note with the S'more (Nutella, marshmallow and graham cracker crumble stuffed between two slices of Challah bread). You're hungry, right? We'll see you at 11.
Boot Scootin' Steak Nights @ MKT Bar
Friday, 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Enjoy special flights of Texas beer and wine, BBQ ribs and sweet potato salad, MKT Frito pie with Haig's chili, or a Cowboy Cut T-Bone steak or ribeye with charro beans and cole slaw. Save room for dessert because the MKT Bar bakery has created special super-sweet warm filo satchels filled with a peanut butter-and-jelly brownie. And it gets better. The filo satchels are topped with a bourbon cream anglaise. Enjoy live music from Lucas Eason and The Panhandlers from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., and the Second Lovers from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m.
