Five Houston Eateries Serving Chocolate for Breakfast
Last week, in honor of February, Valentine's Day and what is basically (for us at least) a month of unashamedly consuming chocolate, we brought you five chocolate-studded recipes that are completely acceptable for breakfast.

This week, we're sharing five of Houston's best chocolate breakfasts for your morning pleasure (and this isn't even taking a chocolate croissant from one of our many amazing French bakeries into account).

The Dish: Strawberry, Banana & Nutella Crepe
Where to Find It: Melange Creperie Friday through Sunday; Sweet Paris Crêperie & Cafe all week long
We are suckers for a good chocolate crepe, but adding on sliced bananas and strawberries and a rich and gooey hazelnut-spiked chocolate sauce makes it that much better. It's a classic combination that both of these local crêperies manage to get just right.
Stop by Sweet Paris starting at 8 a.m. any day of the week or catch the Melange Creperie cart at the corner of Westheimer and Taft on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Dish: Orange-Chocolate Brioche Bun
Where to Find It: Pondicheri
Pondicheri's Bake Lab is what dreams are made of. Stop by the River Oaks restaurant for a bold-roasted coffee and a taste of the lab's freshly baked goods starting at 7:30 a.m. daily.
There you'll find a mix of cookies, scones and delicate pastries, including the chocolate-swirled brioche bun made with cardamom, saffron and a hint of orange. The spices and zest bring a bright and fragrant balance to the rich chocolate and buttery pastry.
