In continuation of Food Truck Friday at the Houston Press office, Bernie's Burger Bus will park its truck in our parking lot from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. to serve up its signature burgers and fries. Whether you love the intricate and gourmet Homeroom burger with applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, "tipsy" onions, chipotle aioli and a fried egg, or just want a classic burger, such as The Principal, complete with cheese, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, pickles, onions, lettuce and tomatoes, Bernie's Burger Bus will hook you up. Don't forget to add one of the bus's signature fries, or "extracurriculars," such as the Truffle Laced Hand-Cut Fries covered in Parmesan cheese and green onions, or the Honor Roll Fries topped with BBQ brisket, bacon, BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese and green onions.
Kirbside Launch Party @ Whole Foods Market

The Whole Foods Market on Kirby opened Kirbside Bar inside the grocery store on Monday, December 30, but the official opening party is today. The Kirbside launch party, accompanied with live music, will take place from 6-8 p.m. and will feature special Karbach brews at discounted prices, including 003, 007 and 008 from the Karbach Fun Series, Krunkin Pumpkin, Pontificator and Yule Shoot Your Eye Out from the seasonal brews, and two brews available year round. The event will also include a raffle drawing.

Pink's Pizza on the University of Houston campus will officially open on Saturday at 9 a.m., and what better way to celebrate its opening day than by filling up the pizza shop to watch the UH vs. Vanderbilt BBVA Compass bowl game at noon? The university's Pink's will show the game on all 15 TVs. Split a pie with friends, grab a cold one from the full bar (40 taps available) and cheer on the Coogs this Saturday as you celebrate the grand opening of Pink's Pizza.

After the holidays, you're probably looking for something chill to do over the weekend, right? Well, grab a group of friends and head to the Saint Arnold Brewery for the first Saturday tour and lunch of 2014. It's the same tour and lunch offered every weekend, but it's the perfect way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon. Tours are held at 12, 1 and 2 p.m. You'll enjoy the freshest Saint Arnold brews and a filling lunch complete with hand cut frites with garlic aoli or ketchup, veggies and dip, bratwurst inside a Slow Dough Bread Co. bun with sauerkraut and whole grain mustard, a hot Slow Dough pretzel with house mustard, and of course, a root beer float made with the brewery's very own root beer and Fat Cat Creamery's vanilla ice cream. Tickets for the tour and a complimentary souvenir glass cost $8, and each item on the lunch menu is priced individually. You can also bring your own lunch if you so choose.
Homemade Italian Gnocchi Cooking Class @ Sur la Table

Not only will you learn how to make gnocchi during this cooking class at Sur la Table in River Oaks, but you'll get to do it at a discounted price. Instead of the usual $69 per ticket, this class has been reduced to $48.96. During the two-hour hands-on lesson, your instructor will teach you how to make traditional potato gnocchi with brown butter and sage, gnocchi gnudi with hazelnut pesto and goat cheese, as well as semolina gnocchi with tomato sauce and olives. By the end of the class you'll have the knowledge and skills needed to make the classic Italian pasta, as well as a trio of recipes to show off that talent to your friends and family.
