Breaking News: Fatal Shooting at Mah Express Chinese Restaurant
A suspect opened fire on Monday at Mah Express, a Chinese restaurant at 4565 Griggs Road, fatally shooting one man and wounding his brother. The incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. Police say the suspect, identified as an African-American male, demanded money before shooting inside the restaurant.

The owner of Mah Express, Cheun-Weih Mah, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the wounded victim, Victor Mah, 46, was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital; his condition was unknown.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. L. Holbrook and Senior Police Officer P. Vela released the following information in a press release.
An unknown black male suspect entered the Mah Express restaurant at the above address and placed an order for food. The suspect then pulled out a gun, fired at least twice into the kitchen and demanded money from all of the employees. The suspect then fired shots at Victor Mah and Cheun-Wei Mah. Victor Mah was struck in the hip. Cheun-Wei was struck and died at the scene. The suspect stole cash, went to a nearby parking lot and fled the scene in a newer model, white sport utility vehicle, driving westbound on Griggs.
