Top 5 New Fast-Food Menu Items You Should Try

It's not very original, but it's only a dollar.
Crazy concoctions and brand new menu items seem to be popping up in just about every fast food restaurant these days. Throughout the summer, many quick-service chains introduced new items in hopes of luring customers. After last week's announcement of several new menu items, we decided to put together a list of five interesting/weird/could-be-good new fast food offerings you should try.

5. French Fry Stuffed Burger @ Burger King

Burger King is really trying hard to get more customers than its competitors by unveiling its newest burger creation, the French Fry Stuffed Burger, and it's assembled exactly as it sounds. While you easily could make this carb-heavy burger yourself, Burger King is offering to do it for you, and it only costs $1. Clearly the fast food burger joint is desperately trying to compete with McDonald's, but since the burger only costs $1, it can't hurt to try it. Plus, if you don't like the fries inside the burger, just take them out and eat them on the side. It's kind of a twofer.

4. Garlic Bread @ Subway

Normally, Subway introduces new sandwiches to its menu, but this time the healthy sandwich shop has a new bread you can use to make any sandwich: garlic bread. The bread will only be available for a short time, but if it becomes uber popular, then it will be added to the regular menu. Hopefully the bread doesn't overpower any of the other ingredients in the sandwich, or stink up the restaurant even more, as this article predicts.

This burger actually looks pretty good.

3. Buffalo Blue Cheese Burger @ Carl's Jr.

This new burger concoction hit Carl's Jr. locations on August 21 and actually sounds good. The Black Angus beef patty is topped with spicy Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Sauce and tangy, sharp blue cheese crumbles, mild Swiss cheese, lettuce, red onion and tomato slices. Change up the regular burger order and get a spicy-zippy burger with blue cheese and hot sauce at Carl's Jr.

2. Fiery Doritos Locos Taco @ Taco Bell

No, it is not made from an actual Doritos chip flavor, but the newest addition to the Dortios Locos Taco lineup is inspired by the Flamas Doritos chip flavor and has further been specially seasoned with a variety of spices and lime. If you're a fan of the Doritos Locos Tacos, it can't hurt to taste the newest flavor, but be warned, the "Fiery" taco lives up to its name.

1. Mighty Wings @ McDonald's

McDonald's has been adding a lot of interesting and somewhat successful items to its menus over the last several years, but will these new fried chicken wings attract as much love and attention as the original McNuggets? We're not sure, but it's worth a try. Move aside new quarter pounders, because the spotlight is on the Mighty Wings. The breaded and fried bone-in chicken wings topped with cayenne and chili peppers will be available in a few stores on September 9 and will hit all McDonald's locations on September 24. You'll be able to buy 3, 5 or 10 fried chicken wing pieces starting at $2.99. McDonald's will also offer Cream Ranch, Honey Mustard, Spicy Buffalo and Tangy BBQ dipping sauces along with current sauce offerings.

The new designer Quarter Pounders at McDonald's.  The Classic is almost a Whataburger, and the bun is a little better than WB's.

Some cheese on the BK french fry burger would make it at least look a little appealing....

Three McDonald wings for $2.99 vs three BK burgers for $3.00. Think I'll stick with BK.

I was impressed with BK fries recently--McD's have always been my favorite, but BK must have made a change in recent years because they were far better than remembered.

Unfortunately they gave me regular chicken tenders, not Buffalo, so that was a bummer. Will have to try out this fry-stuffed burger. Sounds hideous (in a good way)!

We don't always have time for panera and shit. Get over it. ^

@Lisa Lister

You are aware that both Subway and McDonalds each have over 30,000 restaurants? It would appear that a lot of people eat that crap, including me on occasion.
