TCBY Serves Chocolate Almond Frozen Yogurt Made with Silk Almond Milk
Frozen yogurt is known for being a lighter and healthier option in comparison to ice cream and custard, but TCBY has made one of its yogurt offerings much healthier by substituting Silk Almond Milk for regular milk.

TCBY has created Chocolate Almond frozen yogurt using the Silk brand of almond milk; this is the first time a frozen-yogurt franchise has created froyo with almond milk. Being a fan of the non-dairy milk, I decided to give the frozen yogurt a try.
I am a huge fan of almond milk. No, I am not lactose intolerant; I simply enjoy the nuttiness from the milk and the fact that the unsweetened version has fewer calories than regular milk. Don't get me wrong, I love a glass of regular milk, but the hint of almonds in the milk is a refreshing alternative.

Almond milk is made from two ingredients: ground almonds and water. It has no soy, no lactose, no saturated fats, cholesterol or the milk protein casein, making it a wonderful alternative for those who suffer from gluten and soy allergies, and for those who are lactose intolerant. But you don't have to be allergic to regular or soy milk to have almond milk.
And because almonds have tons of vitamins and minerals, almond milk offers more nutrients than regular or soy milk, including calcium, manganese, potassium, iron and vitamin E.
TCBY's frozen version is only 110 calories in a 1/2 cup serving.

The non-dairy frozen yogurt has a texture similar to that of the fruity frozen yogurts. It's a little icy and not very creamy, but for some reason it wasn't terrible. In fact, with each bite, it grew on me.
You can definitely taste the almonds from the almond milk, but paired with the rich chocolate, it's a nice flavor combination -- it's almost like having ice-cold chocolate-covered almonds.
