Our Reaction to the New Taco Bell "Waffle Taco" in GIF Form

Christ wept.
When we first heard that Taco Bell was launching a new breakfast menu, we were intrigued. And, being Houstonians, naturally assumed that this breakfast menu at Taco Bell would include breakfast tacos. Foolishness and folly.

Instead, we were pained to discover, Taco Bell is making another kind of breakfast taco -- out of a waffle. The sole location to offer this new 89-cent Waffle Taco is far, far away from Texas in Santa Ana, California. (Side note: Believe it or not, we have a Santa Anna in Texas, although it wasn't named for the infamous Mexican general but rather a Comanche war chief.)

20 years ago the Taco Bell breakfast in Tempe was YUMMY!  Think giant breakfast taco.  Taco Bell knows better than to mess with the Messicanas in Houston.

Is this a joke or something? When I lived in a city a couple hours north of Seattle, Taco Bell started serving breakfast. It was basic tacos and they were fairly decent. No idea what kind of nutjob thought waffle tacos were a good idea.

it's amazing that Taco Bell doesn't make breakfast tacos

Y'all are crazy.  How is this any different than a McGriddle or the waffle sandwich at JITB?

Sounds like the majority of breakfasts in my 20s, so good demo-targeting on TB's part!

It looks like something you make for breakfast because that's all you have in your fridge.

I've been saying for years they should do breakfast, but I was thinking breakfast tacos and burritos. You know, eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausage or steak, tomato, onion, cheese, and picante sauce.

If a waffle can be a hamburger bun, then a waffle can be a taco shell. This actually looks like it could be tasty. At least they are using what looks like a breakfast sausage instead of taco meat. Waffle + sausage + eggs really isn't an outside-the-norm breakfast.

For cheap fast good that actually looks good. It's not very traditional, but neither is much of tbs menu.
