Quattro knows those Rihanna tickets didn't come cheap.
Quattro is continuing its popular pre-concert dinner series with special menus coming up for both the Rihanna performance on April 15 and the Carrie Underwood show on April 23 -- both at the Toyota Center, which is only a couple of short blocks away.

The award-winning Italian restaurant inside the Four Seasons offers a knockout deal on these nights: For $39, diners receive a three-course meal from chef Maurizio Ferrarese, free valet parking and a glass of wine at the Four Seasons wine bar, Vinoteca, after the show.

For sake of comparison, you'll pay anywhere from $10 to $20 to park near the Toyota Center -- but your car won't be valeted and you definitely won't get fed. You already paid enough for those pricy concert tickets, so cut yourself a break at dinner.

Brand-new Brazilian steakhouse Texas de Brazil will open on Monday, April 8 in CityCentre, marking the first Houston location for the Dallas-based restaurant. The 8,500-square foot meat palace is boasting enough space to fill 825 guests's faces with gaucho-sliced rack of lamb. It even sports a chef's table near the main grill.

Texas de Brazil is inviting customers to come by the restaurant the week of April 15 to 19 for a complimentary caipirinha, the classic Brazilian cocktail made with fresh limes, sugar and a white rum called cachaça. And if you stay for dinner, dessert is on the house -- for every guest.

The extensive meat selection at Texas de Brazil features Brazilian sausage, chicken breast wrapped in bacon, rack of lamb and the house specialty, picanha, all carved tableside by the Brazilian cowboys known as gauchos. They're wearing the Brazilian equivalent of lederhosen while they slice your meat, so be kind.

Texas de Brazil is open for dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 to 10:30 p.m. on Fridays, 4 to 10:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 4 to 10 p.m. on Sundays. A lunch service is in the works.

Whole Foods Market is hosting a Community Giving Day this coming Wednesday, April 10 to benefit the Houston Food Bank's upcoming Empty Bowls Houston event, which brings together local artists and craftspeople to help fight hunger in our community. On Wednesday, Whole Foods will donate 5 percent of the day's sales from its five Houston-area locations to the Houston Food Bank.

From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Empty Bowls Houston committee members and local artists will demonstrate their crafts at the participating Houston stores. They'll also be selling bowls and taking advance donations for the 9th annual Empty Bowls Houston, coming up on Saturday, May 18.

Empty Bowls is an international effort to fight hunger, implemented in Houston to benefit the Houston Food Bank. For a minimum $25 donation, attendees receive a simple lunch of soup and bread provided by Whole Foods, then select a bowl from more than 1,000 one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted bowls donated by Houston-area ceramists and craft artists. The empty bowls are meant to serve as a reminder of all the empty bowls in our community and the world.
