Kolache Benefit for West, Texas
Saturday, 8 a.m.
Revival Market, 550 Heights Boulevard

Revival Market will be selling its delicious, housemade kolaches and klobosneks for breakfast tomorrow morning starting at 8 a.m., with 50 percent of the proceeds going to benefit victims of the fertilizer plant explosion and fire in West, Texas.

Local Strawberry Cream kolaches and Caramel Apple kolaches with a miso butterscotch filling donated by Rebecca Masson of Fluff Bake Bar will be on offer, as will klobosneks made with Revival's own boudin or smoked sausage. In anticipation of a big crowd, chef Ryan Pera will be making double the normal batch of kolaches and klobasneks, so don't be shy. Additional donations for West can be made at Revival Market or through Point West Bank, PO Box 279, West, TX 77691.

20th Annual West Alabama Ice House Crawfish Boil
Saturday, 1 to 7 p.m.
1919 West Alabama

The big charity-minded crawfish boil that never really had a name is celebrating two decades of being held each spring at the West Alabama Ice House. As with past years, the boil will benefit the local Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

Donations are the price of admission, and St. Vincent de Paul is currently in need of non-perishable foods, baby food, diapers, cleaning supplies, and detergent. In exchange, you'll receive plenty of crawfish freshly arrived from south Louisiana, gumbo, red beans and rice, inexpensive beer and the warm fuzzies.

3rd Annual Halfway to Halloween Zombie Pub Crawl
Saturday, 5 p.m.
Various locations downtown

While The Walking Dead is on hiatus, get out your best zombie gear and head downtown for a zombie walk/pub crawl that'll scare the bejeezus out of at least a few unsuspecting pedestrians on Saturday night. The crawl kicks off at The Flying Saucer at 5 p.m. and then heads to Sunny's and Phoenicia's MKT Bar before wrapping up at Dirt Bar.

Bring a $10 donation for one of Houston Zombie Walk's charities -- Houston Children's Charity, the Houston Humane Society or Dove Key Ranch Wildlife Rehab -- and a designated driver to get you home, because there will be drink specials along the way all night long.

Rockin' Rollin' Prints 2013 at Saint Arnold
Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
2000 Lyons

PrintMatters is teaming up with the Saint Arnold Brewery to host the annual Rockin' Rollin' Prints event, a.k.a. the Steamroller Print Making Event. More than 60 Texas artists have carved 3'x5' woodblocks that will be inked up and steamrolled -- yes, with an actual steamroller -- in the brewery's parking lot. The prints will then be displayed in Saint Arnold's beer hall for viewing and for sale while the brews flow freely.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online or at the door. That $10 fee includes refreshments (served between noon and 3 p.m.) and a commemorative glass created by Santo designer Carlos Hernandez for the first 200 guests.
