Revival Market's two-year anniversary party
Saturday, 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Join the little market that could in the Heights as it celebrates its two-year anniversary with a kolache-filled breakfast service. Revival Market will be selling the Czech pastries -- along with klobasneks, if you need meat at breakfast -- in a variety of flavors. The kolaches will feature a choice of strawberry ricotta or kumquat cardamom fillings, while the klobasneks will be stuffed with either smoked boudain or Czech sausage and cheddar. Get there early, though; the kolaches always sell out.
In the afternoon, the market will be hosting a grand pig roast at 2 p.m. Plates are $12.95 a person and come with porchetta with salsa verde, smoked pulled pork, jalapeño slaw, potato salad and so much more (including dessert, of course). As a thank you to its fans, Revival Market will be giving away pints of Karbach Brewery's Weisse Versa and Hopadillo until both the pork and beer are all gone.
Can you believe it's been four years since Bobby Heugel and the gang moved in to Montrose and shook up the whole city's bar scene? The Anvil Bar & Refuge crew is celebrating those four years with an anniversary party that features four new cocktails starting at 4 p.m. Anvil will also be serving four fan-favorites from year's past and debuting its brand-new bar menu from Erin Smith. And yes -- the entire Anvil staff will be behind the bar, all at once. This should be fun.
Sunday brunch at Sonoma in the Heights
Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The new location of Sonoma Wine Bar is launching a new Sunday brunch service. I'd encourage eating on the big, beautiful patio if weather permits. Brunch items on the short and sweet menu include French toast, Belgian waffles and -- naturally -- pitchers of mimosas.
Early Easter at Hotel Derek
Sunday, 9 to 11 a.m.

Beat the crowds by celebrating Easter a weekend early at Hotel Derek. For $22 a person ($12 for children up to 12 years old), the hotel will host a special "Breakfast with the Easter Bunny," which will feature an opportunity for pictures with the Easter bunny as well as egg painting, face painting, a balloon artist and breakfast buffet. A portion of the proceeds from Breakfast with the Easter Bunny will be donated to the Houston SPCA.
If you don't want to stand in line for crawfish pho this weekend at LA Crawfish, try out the crawfish specials at Ninfa's on Navigation instead. Chef Alex Padilla has taken advantage of the crawfish boom this season to create two new dishes: Crawfish Borrachos ($13.95), "drunken" crawfish and mussels in a salsa borracha that's served alongside Texas toast topped with crab salad; and Crawfish Elote Loco Tostadas ($12.95), which feature grilled corn (that's the elote) along with pickled potatoes, onions and queso fresco atop a tostada.
