The 2012 Burger Bracket, for sake of reference.
The third annual Burger Bracket is coming up soon, and although we're still finding the perfect venue for you -- our readers -- to come and judge Houston's best burgers, we've already compiled the brackets themselves. But we need your help.

If you didn't like the line-up on last year's bracket (or the one before), here's your chance to make your voice heard. Not only are we choosing 16 reader-judges to help us narrow the competing burgers down to the Final Four -- as with past years -- but this year we're also asking for you to fill out one of those four brackets.

The brackets for the 2013 Burger Bracket include:

  • Classic Roadside Burgers
  • Pub-style Burgers
  • Wild Game Burgers
  • Readers' Choice Burgers

burgerbracket2011.jpg
...and here's the 2011 bracket.
In the coming weeks, we'll reveal which four burgers will be included in all four brackets. But before we do that, we need your suggestions for the fourth and final bracket.

Do you have a favorite burger joint that's been overlooked in the past two Burger Brackets? Know of a restaurant that surprisingly specializes in excellent burgers? Got an off-the-beaten-path place you think everyone should know about? Submit your choices for our Readers' Choice Bracket in the comments section below. The four restaurants with the highest number of comments/votes will be selected for the Readers' Choice Bracket.

The sooner we get those comments the sooner the official 2013 Burger Bracket can commence, so voting closes this Friday, February 8 at 5 p.m.

I'm late to this and I haven't seen these in the comments yet but my readers choice burgers are Amazon Grill and Niko Niko's - two excellent burgers at places you wouldn't expect to find them.

Sammy's Wild Game Grill has a delicious selection of game burgers. Love, love, love the sliders! The Kangaroo burger is amazing too! They definitely have to be on the list!

And, for the biggest, best, freshest burger, one must go to Chief's Cajun Snack Shack on the southwest corner of Southmore and Live Oak just east of 288.  It is by far the best burger out there. .

After scrolling down and reading some of the comments I too wonder, where in the world is Lankford's. And Champs on Sampson and Sparkle on Dowling.

Haven's H-town Burger should be in consideration as well as the burger at The Hideaway on Dunvale.

Christian's Tailgate is easily my favorite.  The original on Washington with a slight edge.

I'm not a huge fan of Lankford's Grocery, but it'd be an oversight not to include it.

They have the best wild game burgers... hands down!!

@luvrhino Sadly, I think both Lankford and Christian's have slipped a bit, and the best newcomers have far exceeded these legendary burger joints.
