Rounding Up the Best Rodeo Dining Deals in Houston
With the Rodeo headed to town starting this weekend, plenty of local restaurants are featuring dining deals all season long. We've rounded up some of the biggest steals below, many of which even include parking deals. (And as anyone who goes to the Rodeo will tell you, parking is by far the least enjoyable part of the experience.)

To help relieve the problem of actually getting to and from Reliant, Goode Company's Armadillo Palace has partnered with The Wave to bus Rodeo fans to the fairgrounds every day from Tuesday, February 19 to Sunday, March 17. For a $20 round trip, rodeo-goers can start and end the day celebrating at the Armadillo Palace with $10 buckets of beer and a new dance floor perfect for boot-scootin' to a slew of live shows from acts such as Two Tons of Steel, Jesse Dayton and Dale Watson. Passengers can view a pick-up and drop-off schedule and/or purchase their tickets to ride The Wave online.

The burger chain is offering what it calls "Texas-sized flavor" with a new, limited-edition Outlaw Melt for $6.99 that features a chicken breast, spicy sautéed onions and jalapeños, ranch dressing and blue cheese. The Outlaw Melt is available at Fuddruckers locations throughout the city until March 15.
As with Katsuya (below), the Houston Texans Grille at City Centre is offering a special cowboy-inspired cocktail throughout Rodeo season. The Cowboy Curaçao for $10 features orange-infused Bulliet bourbon, ginger simple syrup, blanco vermouth, orange curaçao, muddled orange and a splash of soda.

The sushi hot spot in West Ave is offering two Rodeo-ready specials: The Rodeo Clown cocktail for $14, made with Texas whiskey, simple syrup, Angostura bitters, absinth and an orange lasso for garnish. And the Rodeo Roll for $18, which features prime beef tatami, sautéed nobashi rbi, cucumber, avocado, shaved onion and Japanese "rodeo" sauce.
Chef Aquiles Chavez isn't from Texas, but he got here as fast as he could. During the Rodeo season, the Mexican restaurant will feature its special Arrachera Nachos, complete with house-made beans, steak, cotija cheese and queso.
Latin Bites will be offering half off its popular anticuchos -- grilled beef heart skewers -- during its weekday happy hour through March. Hot and cold bites from the happy hour menu will be 50 percent off as well, and you can wash them down with $5 Latin cocktails, $3 beers and $5 wines.
Guests who dine at Line & Lariat during the Rodeo can enjoy $6 parking if they show their METRORail or Rodeo stub. The restaurant will also be offering special Rodeo-inspired entrée/beverage pairings including Karbach IPA paired with braised pork tostadas for $8 and $3 Coronas with $2 crispy fish tacos. After the meal, just hop on the light rail on Main Street straight over to Reliant.
Dress up in your best boots on Go Texan Day (tomorrow, February 22) and you'll be entered into Petite Sweet's best-dressed Texan contest. The winner gets a gift card good for $50 worth of sugary sweetness.

"French cowboy" chef Philippe Schmit is getting ready for the Rodeo with specially inspired entrees offered each Saturday during the Rodeo season. Starting February 23, Phillipe will offer Chicken Gumbo with bacon, Andouille, bell peppers, rice and green onions ($9) and a Crispy Taco Choucroute with sauerkraut, garlic sausage, braised pork and franks with a jalapeño-old fashioned mustard sauce ($26). More specials will rotate in throughout March.
For the duration of the Rodeo, show your Rodeo ticket at Sparrow Bar + Cookshop for a complimentary #11 cocktail (a rye whiskey smash) with purchase of an entrée. Then stop in after the Rodeo concerts for Sparrow's reverse happy hour, from 9 to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Now through March 25, Sprinkles Cupcakes will "brand" your favorite cupcakes with Lone Star State decorations in the shapes of Texas, boots, longhorn, cacti and stars. You can order just one cupcake or mix it up in a box to share on the trail.
Straits will be featuring a weekly steak night each Wednesday during the Rodeo, beginning on February 20 and continuing on February 27, March 6 and March 13. Enjoy a 16-oz rib eye with STRAITS' special garlic fries for $19, available from 4 through 10 p.m.
Tony Mandola's is offering a 10 percent discount off your individual meal if you bring in a Rodeo concert ticket or show your Committee Badge. Enjoy this deal from "Go Texan Day" on February 25 all the way through the final Rodeo performance on March 17. It's good for both lunch and dinner.
Looking to get your fill of Texan fare before heading to the Rodeo? Check out some of Triniti's newest additions to its Bar Bites menu: campechana with jumbo lump crab, gulf shrimp and lobster; sloppy Joes on ciabatta; and smoked Berkshire Pork Spare Ribs. Bites are $8 each or 3 for $20. During Triniti's weekday happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m., bar bites and cocktails are half off, while Texas beers are only $3.
Want a little Rodéo (Drive) before you hit the Rodeo? Head to Up Restaurant in Highland Village for a grit-free Texas meal. Enjoy upscale cowboy fare such as short rib sliders, shrimp and grits, crispy fried chicken and "grilled cowboy steak" with sweet potato croquettes, among others. In addition, Up will offer complimentary shuttle from the restaurant to the rodeo with proof of valet voucher. Available for dinner, February 25-March 17.
