This Week in Food Blogs: Of Moon Towers and Branch Waters
29-95: The big news of the week is that David Grossman is leaving his space at 510 Shepherd and taking the name "Branch Water Tavern" with him. Grossman plans to stay on for two months while a new management team leases the building, but will then depart, at which point the restaurant will take on a new name. Grossman hopes to reopen Branch Water later on, in a smaller location with a more casual feel.

ROFL House: Everyone's hitting up the new Brooklyn Athletic Club lately (here's My Table's take and here's 29-95's take and here's Delicious Mischief's take and here's a blog post from an angry Brooklyn resident in Brooklyn itself even), and now it's blogger Matt Chow's turn. "Get your ASS to BAC," he writes, "it's time to welcome Jeff back to Houston." Worth a click for the slideshow of dishes alone.
CultureMap: Galveston's own restaurant week is coming up soon, and Tyler Horne has five great dining suggestions that make driving to the isle worth your while. (God, I kill me.)
Jack Around: Despite the cold and rainy weather, everyone's excited about the grand reopening of Moon Tower Inn, including blogger Jack Highberger. "Apropos that the Moon Tower's denizens should walk away from opening night with muddy boots," he writes, "because get out of here with those Jimmy Choo's."
Urban Swank: The Urban Swank girls visited one of my all-time favorite breakfast spots recently, Frank's Grill, and compared it to another local breakfast joint, Avalon Grill. Frank's won out -- not that I'm surprised -- for its "no frills home cooked breakfast that you crave for on many weekend mornings." The girls visited the Westchase location, but the Mangum location is still my jam.
Zayt and Za'atar: Finally, welcome back, Brigitte Zabak, who's been absent from her blog for a while. We've missed her writing and her recipes, but her first new post -- on lentil soup -- is asking for your recipes this time. Have a favorite healthy lentil dish recipe you'd like to share? Let Brigitte know.
