Central Texas Style Bar-B-Q suffered minimal damage after a fire late Tuesday night.
One of our favorite haunts in Pearland battled a fire late Tuesday night, which left Central Texas Style Bar-B-Q closed all day yesterday as the owners cleaned up the damage. No one was injured in the blaze, but patrons were quick to take to Twitter to express their love for the restaurant, which has been serving a mix of barbecue and, more recently, homestyle Cuban food since 1969.

Wrote one fan, Tiffany Bollmeyer: "Apparently Central Texas BBQ caught on fire... If I don't ever get some food from there again, it will be the end."

"Our friends over at Central Texas Style BBQ had a fire last night," wrote Jeremy Perrine, owner of Pearland Coffee. "Please keep them in your thoughts as they are closed today and working on fixing the damage."

According to a report in the Houston Chronicle, "the fire began inside the front barbecue pit, the oldest of two in the business." The overall fire damage was minimal.

Good news of minimal damage to the restaurant seems to have left its owners happy, too. On its Facebook page yesterday, co-owner Ruth LeClere simply wrote:

It's official. We will be back in business tomorrow at our regular hours. 10am-9pm. Fair warning... it does smell like smoke inside. :)
