Although I usually favor the chewy chocolate chip cookie, I very much enjoy the cakey texture of the French Gourmet Bakery's version. And every so often, I double up two of the cookies with some vanilla frosting for a delectable sandwich.
Patrons of The Chocolate Bar are often too dazzled by the chocolate-dipped fritos and ginormous layer cakes to pay much mind to the seemingly pedestrian chocolate chip cookies. If, however, you're looking for a (slightly) less expensive treat from The Chocolate Bar, do go for the cookies, which are heavily marbled with ribbons and studded with large chunks of the same high-quality chocolate found in the other desserts.
As a general rule, I don't believe in mixing nuts into chocolate chip cookies. Moeller's chocolate chip pecan cookies, however, are more than just fine with me because the nut bits don't overwhelm the chocolate and actually enhance the brown buttery flavor.
You already knew they offer the best egg salad; you may not know they also have amazing BANANA chocolate chip cookies. Don't waste time (and headspace) sprinkling Nestle morsels into your banana loaf and telling yourself "it's still healthy, 'cause it's bread." DaCapo's got you covered.
Two things ensure a wonderful lunch at Brown Bag Deli: (1) Requesting your sandwich "pressed" and (2) buying a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Each cookie's craggy, slightly crunchy exterior belies a softer interior laden with chocolate chunks. This blend of textures is almost as entertaining as the wise-cracking clerk who made your sandwich.
