How To: Eggnog Martinis
Eggnog is a signature holiday drink. To some, it's not the holidays without eggnog, especially if there isn't alcohol combined with it.

Here's a simple recipe that you can make today for all your assembled friends and family: eggnog martinis. And it's pretty easy: Just make your own eggnog and combine it with some alcohol for a delicious eggnog martini.
Slowly whisk the milk into the eggs.
First, make your own eggnog by whisking four eggs, combined with two tablespoons of simple syrup and a pinch of salt.
To make your own simple syrup, just boil one cup of water and dissolve two cups of sugar. Once the sugar dissolves, take the pot off the heat and let the syrup cool. Store in a plastic bottle to use for later.
After you whisk the eggs, salt and simple syrup, slowly incorporate two cups of milk. Pour this mixture into a pot over low to medium heat. Constantly whisk the mixture in the pot until it thickens, then immediately take off the heat and let it cool.
Once it cools, pour it through a sieve so you can easily take out any parts of the egg that might have cooked while on the stove. Next, whisk in half a teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/2 cup to one cup, depending on how much alcohol you would like in the drink, of bourbon or rum.
Place the bowl in the refrigerator until it is completely cool.
Before you let the mixture chill, pour in the booze.
Right before you serve the drinks, mix in 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream. Use a martini glass or tall glasses and dip the lids in water, or simple syrup for a sweet lid, then roll in cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour the drink into each glass and garnish with a sprinkling of cinnamon and nutmeg. Add a stick of cinnamon for a festive touch.
