Sampler Plate: This Week in Food Blogs

Categories: Leftovers

Robb Walsh: To promote his new book, Texas Eats, Robb Walsh will be appearing all over Texas throughout March. Whether you catch him at Vargo's for the big Foodways Texas crawfish boil or at the Oysters, Blues & Brews event at the Armadillo Palace or even just at Blue Willow Bookshop tonight, be sure to get your own copy of Texas Eats at his appearances and get your book signed too!

Nomadic Root: On the eve of Oxheart opening to the public next week, chef and owner Justin Yu put a few words down about what it's meant to finally open a restaurant of his -- and his wife's -- own and how the struggle is ultimately worth it:

Oxheart has taken a shape that I couldn't have ever imagined and definitely not like the perfect restaurant that I had in my head. But just like many things, its imperfections make it human, and it's those little imperfections that I've come to really love.

The Loop Scoop: Results for The Loop Scoop's Taco Throwdown are in. And the winner is...not Karanchos? That's okay; I'm a sucker for the lamb barbacoa tacos at Tacos a Go-Go, too.

The Woodlands Eats: Sunny Street Cafe in The Woodlands isn't just a great spot for a hearty breakfast -- witness the giant black bean breakfast quesadilla. You can also get something called a breakfast sundae there, too. BRB, driving up I-45.

The Heights Life: Don't just take our word about the great new CSA delivery service, Farmhouse Delivery. The Heights Life got a box of fresh produce and eggs of its own to experiment with. Tell me those aren't some of the prettiest eggs you've seen in a long time...

Brewtiful: Lastly, Camp Beer has come a long way, baby. Camp Beer founder and beer blogger Cathy Clark reflects on the past few years and the craft beer movement's increasingly strong fan base as she plans for her 10th Camp Beer tasting event.
